A Song For The Loose Destiny

Film, 15 minutes, 2022

In a far future, a group of terrestrials gather at a coal mining site where they try to remember their past or our future. A dialogue takes place in front of the landscape where the tremendous feelings of sublimity, pain, and alienation are performed through speeches, songs, and poems. Through gazing at the abandoned landscape of the Zollverein coal mining industrial site, the film speculates on complexities between technology, landscape, and the body in a post-disaster time. The landscape becomes an imperative witness to the progress and devastation depicting future emergences.

The project is commissioned by Sharjah Art Foundation.
